Clouds over Cape Ann MA

Artists like to ponder and mull over their thoughts, I guess. Using the left side of the brain is a little bit different than the right side where creativity is expressed. So here I am again reflecting.

Life is a gift. To live each day well. Find the sacred in the ordinary. It is where most of us live if we are not in power positions and or extremely wealthy. Each path is filled with the positive and negative, yin and yang, hills and valleys. Like the boat in the distance in my photo, keep a steady course and eye on the destination point. Ride the waves and enjoy the journey. Know when to find a safe port in the storm. That safe place is always within the self no matter where you are on your journey. You are the one who is in control of your direction.  What will you choose today?

Love and light,

Reflections

Winter on Cape Ann MA ~ Brrr ~ Too early!

Winter on Cape Ann MA ~ Brrr ~ Too early!

Right now I am reflecting on Word Press and whether I like this approach or not ~ Always a learning curve ~ yet always good to be learning ~ learning is creative as well as the arts such as photography, painting, music, writing ~ Creativity is in all of us and many choose to not see it, I guess.

Moving forward ~ writing allows me time to reflect and be. Flowing with the now and enjoying the music in the background and the warm cutie dog beside me. After I have been out a bit for the day she is always so happy to have me back home and wants to’snuggle’ close. I enjoy her company and love her so much. Sometimes, especially in winter, I have to really push myself out the door to do things with friends, family and fellow artists. Then there is always the usual ‘errands’ we all need to do.

Life can be as simple or as complex as you would like. Do you enjoy complexity, simplicity or an equal balance of both or do you get bored with simplicity? I think Simplicity is beautiful ~ also enjoy a healthy dose at times of complexity.

Enjoy ~ xox

Reflection Week

‘I wonder as I wander’

Cape Ann MA ~ an ‘island unto itself’ ~ Above is the Fishermen’s Wives Monument, a memorial, to all those husbands who died at sea fishing the vast ocean.

I wonder what they thought as they went out to sea for days in all kinds of weather. It was a high price to pay for doing what many of them reportedly seemed to cherish, roaming the seas for fish to bring home to sell, a way to make their living. Now, there are few fishing boats and few men or women to troll the ocean.

I wonder as I wander this earth what has happened to the peoples of the world in  this 21st century. Technology seems to be paramount and relationships, men, women, children, animals are growing further apart each day? Is our world ‘fished out’ like the ocean? Was Orwell right – ‘it’s a brave new world’. Go fish.

Through the lens Cape Ann MA  ~ cold, cold, cold! Tis January and in August it will be hot, hot, hot. Weather, mother nature, day by day how it can effect one’s being. Walks in the cold air are invigorating and not real conducive to photographing; yet, beauty abounds and hands are numb yet the photo is produced.

The light has changed on Cape Ann MA ~ how does one describe the light ~ perhaps you can see it in this photo. Since, at least 6 years old, if not before, I have been a  ‘seeker’ and now know the light, the energy, the spirit is all within and around me. Even you the reader are connected ~ We are all connected. And I am rambling ~ Peace and heart light to you ~ namaste, xxx

An Artist’s Relections

Through the lens allows time to ‘be in the moment’ much like a butterfly.

Keeping life  ‘simply, sincerely and slowly.

Many get caught in the ‘mid way’ with all the conforming attractions.

Being more selective helps keep one more focused and being in the now.

Be like the fishes ~ they know they are a fish ~ be who you are.

Reflecting through meditation helps with the ‘monkey mind.’ If I reflect too long during the daily activities I have lost the ‘now’. My aim is ‘to be here now.’ ~ not in the past or into the future. My daily meditation and journalling seems to help me focus and remember my aim. Then I am reminded that I need to ‘get out of my head’ and move into my heart when taking photos. The above photo, I think, is a wonderful example of hearing the humor, the universal chuckle in my heart, the inner child in my heart. Play is so good for the inner soul.

Come back again ~ we love visits and comments and you can even bring a ‘biscuit’ ~ I might even give you a kiss. ^_^
